If country music lyrics are your thing, then Kenny Chesney is your man!

Kenny did not become a country superstar overnight, but he became one through hard work, time-tested ballad song lyrics, and determination.

After receiving a guitar for Christmas, he started taking music seriously and began practicing, until he ultimately joined a college bluegrass band. After graduating, he got a publishing deal with Acuff-Rose, and from there landed a record contract with Capricorn.

He released his debut album in 1993 entitled, In My Wildest Dreams which sold 100,000 copies, despite the fact that the Capricorn country music division closed shortly after its release.

The album was noticed by bigger record labels, and Kenny Chesney was signed up by RCA.

He subsequently released All I Need to Know which gave him two Top 10 hits.

His follow-up album, Me and You, was a big hit and was the first to go gold. It featured the great song lyrics of When I Close My Eyes and the title track.

Kenny Chesney's next album, I Will Stand was another gold record that featured That's Why I'm Here and his first number one hit, She's Got It All.

Things were just getting hot for this country stud, and his next album, Everywhere We Go went double platinum and unleashed two chart topping hits, You Had Me From Hello and How Forever Feels.

Kenny Chesney gave out a Greatest Hits compilation, with two new songs, I Lost It and Don't Happen Twice. Once again it became a double platinum release.

Seeing no sign of letting up, he followed it up with the 2002 album No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem which proved to be his most commercially successful release to date. It included the song lyrics for Young, The Good Stuff, A Lot of Things Different, and Big Star.

Anything But Mine
I Go Back
The Good Stuff
When the Sun Goes Down
You Had Me From Hello
Young

Anything But Mine

Walking along beneath the lights of that miracle mile
Me and Mary making our way into the night
You can hear the cries from the carnival rides
The pinball bells and the skeeball slides
Watching the summer sun fall out of sight
There's a warm wind coming in from off of the ocean
Making its way past the hotel walls to fill the street
Mary is holding both of her shoes in her hand
Said she likes to feel the sand beneath her feet

And in the morning I'm leaving, making my way back to Cleveland
So tonight I hope that I will do just fine
And I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

There's a local band playing at the seaside pavilion
And I got just enough cash to get us in
And as we're dancin Mary's wrapping her arms around me
And I can feel the sting of summer on my skin
In the midst of the music I tell her I love her
We both laugh cause we know it isn't true
Ah but Mary there's a summer drawing to an end tonight
And there's so much that I long to do to you

But in the morning I'm leaving, making my way back to Cleveland
So tonight I hope that I will do just fine
And I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

And in the morning I'm leaving, making my way back to Cleveland
So tonight I hope that I will do just fine
And I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

Mary I don't see how you could ever be anything but mine

I Go Back

"Jack and Diane" painted a picture of my life and my dreams,
Suddenly this crazy world made more sense to me
Well I heard it today and I couldn't help but sing along
Cause everytime I hear that song...

I go back to a two-toned short bed Chevy
Drivin my first love out to the levy
Livin life with no sense of time
And I go back to the feel of a fifty yard line
A blanket, a girl, some raspberry wine
Wishin time would stop right in its tracks
Every time I hear that song, I go back, I go back

I used to rock all night long to "Keep On Rockin Me Baby"
Frat parties, college bars, just tryin to impress the ladies
I heard it today and I couldn't help but sing along
Cause every time I hear that song....

I go back to the smell of an old gym floor
The taste of salt on the Carolina shore
After graduation and drinkin goodbye to friends
And I go back to watchin summer fade to fall
Growin up too fast and I do recall
Wishin time would stop right in its tracks
Every time I hear that song, I go back, I go back

We all have a song that somehow stamped our lives
Takes us to another place and time

So I go back to a pew, preacher, and a choir
Singin bout God, brimstone, and fire
And the smell of Sunday chicken after church
And I go back to the loss of a real good friend
And the sixteen summers I shared with him
Now "Only The Good Die Young" stops me in my tracks
Every time I hear that song, I go back, I go back

To the feel of a fifty yard line
A blanket, a girl, some raspberry wine, I go back
I go back

To watchin summer fade to fall
Growin up too fast and I do recall, I go back
I go back

To the loss of a real good friend
And the sixteen summers I shared with him, I go back
I go back

(Fades)

I go back, I go back

The Good Stuff

Well me and my lady had our first big fight
So I drove around till I saw the neon lights
at a corner bar
It just seemed right, so I pulled up
Not a soul around but the old bar keep
down at the end lookin' half asleep
He walked up and said "What'll it be?"
I said,''The good stuff"
He didn't reach around for the whiskey
He didn't pour me a beer
His blue eyes kind of went misty
He said, "You can't find that here."

Cause its the first long kiss on a second date
your momma's all worried when you get home late
Droppin the ring in the spaghetti plate
cause your hands are shakin so much
It's the way that she looks with the rice in her hair
Eatin' burnt suppers the whole first year
and askin for seconds to keep her from tearin' up
Yeah man, that's the good stuff

He grabbed a carton of milk
and he poured a glass
then I smiled and said,
"I'll have some of that."
We sat there and talked as an hour passed
like old friends
Saw a black and white picture and it caught my stare
It was a pretty girl with bouffant hair
He said, "That's my Bonnie, taken 'bout a year after we wed."
He said, "Spent 5 years in the bottle, when the cancer took her from me,
But Ive been sober 3 years now
'Cause the one thing stronger than the whiskey

Was the sight of her holdin' my baby girl
The way she adored that string of pearls
I gave her the day that our youngest boy Earl,
married his high school love
and it's a new t-shirt saying "I'm a grandpa"
and being right there as our time got small,
And holdin her hand when the good Lord called her up
Yeah man, That's the good stuff

He said, ''When you get home she'll start to cry,
When she says, ''Im sorry,'' say ''So am I''
Then look into those eyes so deep in love
and drink it up
'Cause thats the good stuff
That's the good stuff

When the Sun Goes Down

Suntaned toes ticklin the sand
cold drink chillin in my right hand
watchin you sleep in the evenin light
restin up for a long, long night
cuz when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down
we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
everything gets hotter when the sun goes down
Yeah

all day long just takin it easy
layin in a hammock where it's nice and breezy
and sleepin off the night before
cuz when the sun goes down we'll be back for more

when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

this old guitar and my dark sunglasses
this sweet concoction is smooth as molasses
nothing to do but breathe all day
until the big moon rises and it's time to play

when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
everything gets hotter
when the sun goes down
when the sun goes down

when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down
we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
everything gets hotter
when the sun goes down
Yeah

When the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
everything gets hotter
when the sun goes down

when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
she thinks Kracker's sexy
when the sun goes down
we'll be feelin alright
when the sun sinks down
over the water
Uncle Kenny's hotter
when the sun goes down
when the sun goes down
we'll be groovin
when the sun goes down
hey Uncle Kenny
when the sun goes down
over the water
everything is hotter
when the sun goes down
When the sun goes ---------

You Had Me From Hello

One word, that's all you said
Somethin' in your voice caused me to turn my head.
Your smile, just captured me
And you were in my future as far as I could see
And I don't know how it happened, but it happened still
You asked me if I love you, if I always will

Well you, had me from "Hello"
I felt love start to grow
The moment that I looked into your eyes, you won me
It was over from the start
You completely stole my heart
And now you won't let go
I never even had a chance you know
You had me from "Hello"

Inside, I built the walls
So high around my heart, I thought I'd never fall
One touch, you brought it down
The bricks of my defenses scattered on the ground
And I swore to me I wasn't gonna love again
The last time was the last time, I let someone in

But you, had me from "Hello"
I felt love start to grow
The moment that I looked into your eyes, you won me
It was over from the start
You completely stole my heart
And now you won't let go
I never even had the chance you know
You had me from "Hello"

That's all you said
Somethin' in your voice caused me to, turn my head
You had me from "Hello"
You had me from "Hello"
Girl I've loved you from "Hello"

Young

Lookin back now what makes me laugh
We were growin our hair, we were cuttin class
Knew it all already there was nothin to learn
We were strikin matches just to watch em burn

Listen to our music just a lil too loud
We were hangin in there with the outkast crowd
Headin to the rapids with some discount beer
It was a long train trestle but we had no fear

Chorus:

Man i dont know where the time goes
But it sure goes fast just like that
We were wanna be rebels who didn't have a clue
In our rock and roll t-shirts and our typically bad attitudes
Had no excuses for the things that we'd done
We were brave we were crazy we were mostly
young.....ooh ooh ooh ooh......young

Talked a good game when we were out with the guys
but in the back seat we were awkward and shy
Girls were a mystery that we couldn't explain
And i guess there are somethings that are never gonna change

Chorus

Young..Ya we were wishin we were oooolldddeerrr..
Young...hey i wish it wasn't oooovvvveeeerrrr

Chorus
